My Last Mistake
I drop to the floor convulsing in fright,
Blood on the ground, I let go of the knife;
I cry silent tears of pain untold,
Now I watch as my life unfolds;
Realizing what a mistake I made,
I crawl to phone in horrible pain;
I try to dial but it was too late,
So terrified I cannot concentrate;
I feel my hand slip,
I lose my grip;
I sprawl to the carpeted floor,
My body…silent, stiff, no more.
